Quality Control Specialist

“Before I joined GSK, I’d been working in supply chain in other smaller pharmaceutical companies, but I wanted to grow and continue to widen my knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry. GSK gave me the opportunity to work in Quality Control (QC). I’ve learnt a lot in the past three few months and I’ve loved it. I’ve also been able to use my supply chain knowledge to help my QC team.

The onboarding process has been really good and I’ve been assigned a mentor to help me fit into the GSK Belgium culture; she has introduced me to different departments, helped me with basic administration tasks and showed me the site around. I’ve also benefited from a wide range of training. The amount of training you receive at GSK is fantastic – far more than I’d had previously. Plus, I’ve had mentoring support from my manager.

When we’re developing a vaccine, we need to test it at every stage to ensure it works effectively. As a QC Specialist – Planning and Capacity Management, I help the different laboratories to have a clear view of their future workload so they can plan their resources effectively, whether that’s providing training to their staff or ordering new equipment. Our mission is to help people to do more, feel better and live longer. It’s great to be part of the process.”
