Wavre, 30 septembre 2020 – GSK a annoncé aujourd'hui qu'un pré-accord a été conclu avec les organisations syndicales suite à l’annonce du plan de transformation présenté le 5 février 2020. Alors que GSK avait anticipé qu’un maximum de 720 collaborateurs seraient impactés, le processus de consultation et de négociation devrait aboutir à une réduction de 45% de ce chiffre, soit 386 licenciements chez GSK Vaccines en Belgique, exclusivement au niveau des cadres de l’entreprise. Cette réduction a été obtenue grâce à la mise en place de plusieurs mesures telles qu'un plan de départs volontaires et d'autres initiatives. Le pré-accord va maintenant être soumis à l'examen final des représentants du personnel.
\nLe plan de transformation qui avait été annoncé avant la pandémie de COVID-19 s’inscrit dans un programme de deux ans visant à préparer la séparation de GSK en deux nouvelles sociétés : le Nouveau GSK d’une part, une société biopharmaceutique basée sur la recherche et développement (R&D) axée sur les sciences liées au système immunitaire, l'utilisation de la génétique et les nouvelles technologies; et, d’autre part, un nouveau leader mondial pour les produits de santé grand public (Consumer Healthcare).
\nGSK reste fortement engagé en Belgique. En effet, le site historique de Rixensart reste un site important pour la recherche et le développement de nouveaux vaccins et constitue donc un élément clé de la stratégie de croissance mondiale de GSK. En outre, le site de fabrication de Wavre contribuera, à partir de 2021, à la fabrication prévue d'un milliard de doses d'adjuvants qui seront utilisées dans les vaccins COVID-19, actuellement en cours de développement avec plusieurs partenaires, dont Sanofi.
\nLes efforts de l'entreprise pour augmenter la production d'adjuvants contre la pandémie n'ont pas d'impact sur le plan de transformation, car cette production nécessite une expertise spécifique, différente du profil des collaborateurs concernés par le plan de transformation.
