GSK provided me with a calm, supportive learning environment where I was able to professionalise, gain experience, and help give a voice to colleagues who often work in the background.

Mathéo's interview
What have you discovered at GSK ?
At GSK, I discovered the importance of giving visibility to all contributions, including those that often happen behind the scenes. I was particularly struck by the cultural richness and the strong sense of inclusion embedded in daily work. Everyone is encouraged to express their individuality and opinions freely, which creates a very open and respectful environment. This made me quickly feel like a fully integrated member of a team working toward a shared purpose in public health.
What surprised you the most when you started your apprenticeship?
What surprised me the most was how naturally inclusion is part of everyday life at GSK. Beyond policies or statements, it is something you truly experience day to day. I also did not expect to feel so quickly at ease and supported, which helped me gain confidence from the very beginning.
How would you describe the team atmosphere you work in?
The atmosphere within my team is both professional and supportive. I always felt encouraged rather than pressured, with a manager who challenged me in a constructive way. Our weekly one-hour meetings provide space to exchange ideas, clarify objectives, and continuously improve the quality of my work. This balance between autonomy and guidance creates a very positive working environment.
How has your apprenticeship evolved since you started?
At the beginning, my focus was mainly on understanding the context, tools, and communication challenges within the team. As time went on, I progressively gained autonomy and took ownership of projects. Today, I am able to manage initiatives from A to Z, from defining objectives and coordinating stakeholders to delivering final outcomes.
How has this experience shaped your career goals?
This apprenticeship has completely changed the way I see work. It is no longer just about having a job, but about contributing to meaningful projects and making an impact. I am now looking for opportunities where I can combine my skills with a strong sense of purpose, particularly in environments that aim to improve people’s lives.
What advice would you give to future interns or apprentices?
I would encourage them to be curious and proactive from day one. Ask questions, seek feedback regularly, and do not hesitate to take initiative. It is also important to build connections within your team and beyond, as these relationships are key to learning and unlocking new opportunities.
